Huitt-Zollars prepared construction documents for the rehabilitation of sanitary sewers within the Point Aquarius Municipal Utility District. In order to begin the rehabilitation program, Huitt-Zollars televised the sanitary sewer system, reviewed the videos, designed construction documents, and oversaw the construction of approximately 8,350 linear feet of eight-inch and 12-inch sewer pipe. The primary method of construction utilized in this project was pipe bursting. The District also wanted to rehabilitate the existing wastewater treatment plant outfall into Lake Conroe, which at the time was 30 years old and severely deteriorated. The 600 linear feet of outfall pipe ranged in size from 24 inches to 36 inches. Huitt-Zollars prepared construction documents using the trenchless technology of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) to rehabilitate the pipe.
