As a member of the City’s Program Management Team and Lead Civil, Structural, MEP and Illumination Engineer and Landscape Architect, Huitt-Zollars developed the site plan, utility plans, grading plans, lighting plans, landscape/irrigation plans, conceptual structural plans as well as MEP, fire protection, and IT/Data design requirements for Constellation Field, the City of Sugar Land’s new $27.9 million Professional Minor League Baseball Stadium. This stadium was designed to meet professional baseball Triple-A standards and is home to the Sugar Land Skeeters, a minor league independent team. Huitt-Zollars also prepared the Request for Qualifications and the Request for Proposal for the procurement of a Design/Build contractor as well as provided technical review and assistance during design and construction for all engineering, landscaping and illumination associated with the stadium. Coordination was required with the FAA for the height of the stadium lights due to the stadium proximity to the Sugar Land Regional Airport. Huitt-Zollars also designed the 700-space off-site parking for the stadium.
