Huitt-Zollars, as a consultant, provided civil engineering, architectural design, interior design, and landscape architecture for the $69 million plant, one of the City of Sugar Land’s largest Capital Improvement Projects ever. Huitt-Zollars provided design services for the entire 40-plus-acre site, pump station buildings, maintenance building, sludge dewatering building, chemical building, main electrical distribution building, and membrane/administration building. Landscaping consists of drought resistant plantings, regional perennial flowering plants, boulders, and a dry creek that will serve as a rainwater diversion feature to the surrounding storm sewer system in lieu of gutters and downspouts on buildings.
