Moody Gardens Hotel

Moody Gardens is a destination attraction with a master plan and design that has spanned over 20 years. As part of the on-going work at the 242-acre Moody Gardens Campus, Morris was commissioned to renovate the hotel guest rooms, corridors, and suites throughout the property (the hotel was previously designed by the firm). The scope of services includes 425 guest rooms as well as updates to some of the public areas including the lobby and terrace restaurant.

Lone Star College Performing Arts Center

Project management and full architectural and design services were provided for this 30,000-SF, 425-seat versatile performance center. Acoustic design supports theatre, lecture, music, chorale or local performances while enhancing each production with state of the art technology. The theatre space achieved an acoustic noise coefficient of NC-15. The rigging and lighting design supports expansion with future needs.

Financial Company Office Space

A Beaumont based e-commerce start-up was established to help brands and entrepreneurs succeed online. A merger created one of the most robust and feature rich platforms in the e-commerce industry. The design team was challenged with creating an “out-of-the-box” start-up office linked to a more refined corporate culture with established brand standards.

Houston Downtown Office Space

This 24,827-SF space was designed to provide optimal flexibility for employee growth, while integrating modern features like glass offices and open north views to the city. The bi-product of cohesive architectural and engineering design, the space welcomes collaboration and innovation through an open workplace, and meets sustainable industry standards through the use of sustainable materials and methods.

Belmont Village Senior Living - Turtle Creek

This seven-story mid-rise senior living facility accommodates independent and assisted living with a small number of units dedicated to memory care. Architectural design services were provided for this assisted living facility for Belmont Village. Amenities include private dining, a movie screening room, health club and pool. The senior living facility is located in the heart of one of Dallas’ best neighborhoods, Turtle Creek.

1301 Fannin Lobby

Located in downtown Houston, 1301 Fannin serves as a major data center and corporate office environment for one of the world's leading oil and gas companies. Morris, a Huitt-Zollars company, was tasked with adding a new level of excitement to the lobby space, originally built in 1983, and creating a building site that speaks to the neighborhood's new urban development. The addition of street side planters and brick pavers that reflect the downtown district's sidewalk motif creates a scaled down pedestrian walkway. A steel and glass canopy invites passersby into the dynamic interior.

TxDot On-Call Survey

Huitt-Zollars has provided on-call survey services to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Dallas District for two-year periods from September 1997 to August 2002 and August 2004 to October 2008 (extended to October 2009).

On-Call Surveying Services for Transit/Transportation Projects Church Sites

Huitt-Zollars is providing on-call professional surveying services to the Metropolitan Transit Authority in support of its Transit/Transportation Improvement Projects. Services provided include land title surveys involving preparation of metes and bounds descriptions for easements and parcel acquisitions, topographic and planimetric surveys, horizontal and vertical control surveys, route surveys, Geographic Information System (GIS) and Land Information System (LIS) Surveys on METRO’s Light Rail Transit program, Bus Rapid Transit, High Occupancy Toll Lanes and passenger bus shelters.

Lantana Planned Community

Lantana is a 1,750-acre master planned community of approximately 4,000 single-family residences, an 18 hole golf course with club house, various community amenity facilities, three school sites, over 200 acres of nature preserve, 40 acres of strategically located retail and commercial properties, coupled with a 350-room resort hotel/conference center. Huitt-Zollars prepared the project master plan, civil infrastructure design, construction administration and inspection, plus survey support services.

Interstate 345 Surveying

Huitt-Zollars provided aerial mapping, survey control, and supplemental topographic surveying for a 3.5-mile section of Interstate 345 in Dallas, Texas. The project consisted of a combination of traditional aerial mapping and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) mapping within a heavily developed area in Downtown Dallas. Aerial mapping control was established through the use of GPS and conventional surveying methods. Surveying was performed for the Texas Department of Transportation to be utilized for design and improvement of the existing roadway and bridges.
