Lakewood Drive Roadway and Bridge

Huitt-Zollars, as the bridge consultant, provided engineering design for the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and estimates for a new bridge and approaches located over Little Bear Creek. The new, higher approach on the north end of the bridge ties into the FM 1626 roadway widening project located at the intersection of Lakewood Drive. This intersection is within 150 feet of the end of the Lakewood Drive Bridge. Huitt-Zollars’ tasks included the creation of a bridge layout and design of all superstructure and substructure elements and foundations.

Harlem Road Overpass on Grand Parkway

Huitt-Zollars prepared final plans, specifications, and estimates for a new 0.8-mile four-lane divided roadway and tolled overpass above Harlem Road on Grand Parkway. This segment is part of the SH 99 outer loop of Houston. Huitt-Zollars performed utility investigations, roadway design, drainage/detention analysis and design, traffic control, and SWPPP. Included in the design is a significant elevated section on a two degree curve with a bridge skew of approximately 45 degrees.

Barker Cypress Bridge

Huitt-Zollars prepared a preliminary engineering report and final design construction documents and provided construction phase services for the construction of Barker Cypress Road and a five-span, pre-stressed concrete beam bridge across Cypress Creek. The roadway is an asphalt boulevard with a raised median and storm sewer drainage.

West 7th Redevelopment

West 7th is a 1.1-million square foot mixed-use project in downtown Fort Worth’s Cultural District. Situated on 15.5 acres, the “urban village” consists of 345 residential units; 345,000 square feet of retail; and 200,000 square feet of spec office. Huitt-Zollars was integrally involved in design and provided all survey and civil services for the project along with construction. Huitt-Zollars has a major stake in the area as a whole and our presence has played a vital role in the area’s development.

Trinity Bluff Development

Trinity Bluff is a 30-acre mixed-use development, located on the east bank of the Trinity River, in downtown Fort Worth. Huitt-Zollars provided site planning, site engineering consulting, participated in establishing an overall development strategy, and successfully designed the client’s vision.

Addison Circle

Huitt-Zollars provided lead civil design and landscape architecture services for the 80-acre Addison Circle planned development district. The area is the direct result of a public/private initiative designed to develop a residential base in support of restaurant/entertainment business while creating a focal point for community life. The district-wide pedestrian-friendly street grid is zoned for 3,000 rental and owned mid-rise residences on the interior, and 4 million SF of residential and commercial space fronting a significant tollway.

Stonebridge Ranch

Huitt-Zollars was integral in the preparation of zoning documents and provided engineering services consisting of planning, design, construction review, and overall project management for all phases of the 6,250-acre mixed use project. Overall project management incorporated master planning and construction management and inspection.

Phillips Creek Ranch

Phillips Creek Ranch is a 950-acre master planned community located in Frisco, Texas. The community includes more than 100 acres of green space, lakes, an extensive creek system, hike and bike trails, parks, and various additional amenities. At build-out, there will be approximately 3,700 homes. Huitt-Zollars has been responsible for street, road and utility infrastructures, processing of 404 permits for wetlands, design and layout of the community, design of amenities, and working with the local, State and federal governments during the permitting processes.

Light Farms


Light Farms, an 806-acre master planned community incorporates environmentally-friendly concepts, lush landscaping, acres of greenbelts, an extensive trail system, and exceptional lifestyle amenities. Ultimately, the development will have in excess of 2,700 residential lots. Huitt-Zollars has been responsible for all civil design, survey, and construction management for the entire site development improvements, both onsite and offsite. Huitt-Zollars is also the District Engineer for CCMUD No.1.

Lantana Planned Community

Lantana is a 1,750-acre master planned community of approximately 4,000 single-family residences, an 18 hole golf course with club house, various community amenity facilities, three school sites, over 200 acres of nature preserve, 40 acres of strategically located retail and commercial properties, coupled with a 350-room resort hotel/conference center. Huitt-Zollars prepared the project master plan, civil infrastructure design, construction administration and inspection, plus survey support services.
